In this unit, students will explore how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples map and care for Country. They will examine how stories, artworks and Songlines function as landscape maps, showing important places, transport routes and resources. Students will investigate seasonal calendars and how they guide planning and movement. They will also interpret maps, consider how towns and transport networks are designed, and propose strategies to support sustainable and culturally respectful communities.
